First, follow a Central Falls tutorial (29 mins) to see how to use:

  • Buffer and Multipart to Singleparts
  • Difference
  • Clip
  • Union
  • Intersection

Then, draft and check a workflow solution.

Finally, use QGIS to analyze and visualize urban environmental justice of a city that encompasses the majority of a single county in the United States.

Reminder: Either start with the chicago project folder from the previous lab in your Documents folder, or if you are on a new computer, use the copy_project.bat script from the W:\ drive to copy your previous lab down to the Documents folder. Save outputs into the relevant derived folder.

Suggestion: Start a new QGIS project file for this lab, and load only the data you need (final version of tracts from previous lab).
